Your job

You will be part of one of our Platform teams, which is the glue between infrastructure and services. You help reduce the workload of product development teams, by providing cross-cutting and generic services, re-usable modules, coaching and so on. You shift effortlessly between different teams and divisions, to make sure data is easily accessible and features are simple to build for the whole company. The most awesome thing about this role? You have the freedom to shape and build stuff the way you think it should be.

One of the big projects you will be working on this year is building a customer-targeting communication stack from scratch. Product teams are already able to communicate with customers on a low level, but you will help the teams get in touch with them more easily. With the data from our customer data tool Segment, you will help product teams to understand exactly who they can target with one of the million emails we send out every month. By making the data easily accessible for other product teams, you will make their job (and their lives!) a lot easier. They will thank you later, we promise.

Your team
The Platform team exists of Oriol, Aleix and Tom, who all have a backend development background. The team is led by Lead Backend Andries. As this is a small team, your input will be very valuable. Together you brainstorm, decide and shape how we do development at funda. There is plenty of room for new ideas, experimentation, trial and error, and on-the-spot learning.

Requirements

Your profile

You have a ton of exciting ideas and are not afraid to break through barriers to make them see the light of day. Collaboration is a key word in your career – it lifts you up to work together with other teams, and you know communication is more than just answering the questions other people ask you. As a T-shaped professional, you actively look for feedback and improvement, to make you and your work better every day.

Apart from having an awesome personality, here are some requirements we are looking for:

  • You have a minimum of 3 years' relevant development experience
  • You have experience building and monitoring (high-volume) web platforms and websites
  • You know your way around ASP.Net and C#
  • Working in an agile working environment has no secrets for you
  • Test-Driven Development (TDD) is something you are familiar with
  • You know how to set up application delivery pipelines
  • Not only do you understand what a DevOps mindset is, but you also have practiced it before
  • Have you worked in Datadog before? Great! Otherwise, another alerting & monitoring tool is fine – as long as you’ve used one before
  • You’ve got cloud development experience. Azure is preferred, but any other major cloud provider experience is welcome
  • You know how to work with infrastructure as code. Bonus points if you have experience in Terraform.
